The magnetic design is much more convenient than clamp-style mounts. When I park, I can pull the phone off with one hand and leave the car immediately.
The areas touching the phone have soft padding, so the mount does not leave marks on my case. It holds the phone firmly without feeling like it is pressing directly against hard plastic.
The magnet worked with my thick case, but the hold was noticeably stronger after I switched to a thinner one. The mount itself feels solid and stays in place.
The silicone contact points were one reason I chose this mount. After several weeks, I have not noticed any scratches or pressure marks on my case.
